Support Elizabeth, Tyler, and Their Brave Little Boy Jude 

My beautiful sister, Elizabeth, and brother-in-law, Tyler, are facing an incredibly challenging time. Last July, Elizabeth was diagnosed with fibromuscular dysplasia, a rare vascular condition that affects her arteries. But that’s not where their journey ends. My sweet nephew Jude, a bright and spirited little boy, has been struggling with developmental issues and mysterious episodes since last year.

Their Son’s Journey

After numerous doctor visits and exhaustive tests, Jude had his adenoids and tonsils removed in an attempt to help his speech delay. He was also given an eye sight test and prescribed glasses. Following on from those, he was then diagnosed with receptive language disorder and sensory processing disorder. These conditions have made everyday life a struggle for him, affecting his ability to communicate and process sensory information. Despite these challenges, he continues to live life to the fullest with unwavering courage, even when it often times leaves him alone and unable to connect with his peers.

Recently, things took a more alarming turn. An EEG revealed that he has been experiencing recurring seizures in his left temporal lobe, leading to a diagnosis of Partial Epilepsy. His neurologist has scheduled an MRI for February 27th in hopes of finding a cause such as abnormal brain growth, tumors, and/or neurotransmitter imbalances. The uncertainty and fear surrounding this situation are immense.

The Financial Burden

As you can imagine, the medical bills have piled up. The cost of tests, doctor visits, and medications has put a strain on their family. Elizabeth and Tyler are doing everything they can to provide the best care for their son, but they’ve reached a breaking point. They’ve had to make adjustments to their home and lifestyle to accommodate their neurodivergent little boy’s needs and haven't planned for such an unexpected turn in the health of Elizabeth or Jude, let alone at the same time.
