Weekend Update + New Need - Dropping of Lunch or Dinner
Brett Burford
Hi friends! Brett had a great weekend at home recovering. Now that we're home, we've had several people reach out about bringing a meal by our house. If you feel so led, we'd greatly appreciate it; however, please feel no obligation - we have had an outpouring of support and we are SO SO grateful!
I set up a few dates on here under the Meals section over the next 2 weeks where we don't yet have meals covered. I am returning to work tomorrow, but luckily work from home so can still be here with Brett. If you'd like to stop by and visit, it'll be quieter around lunchtime. If you'd prefer dinner, 4:30-5:30 is great. We usually start bedtime routines with the kids at 6:30.
As for a quick update on Brett - each day is a little bit better than the prior! He still has swelling and bloating all across his abdomen/back from the internal bleed. It makes bending over even a little bit (like to wash his hands) uncomfortable and difficult. Poor guy dropped his glasses overnight and didn't have the heart to wake me up this morning to get them so he was fumbling around without them for about 2 hours!
The incision on his leg is healing well. He's had some random sharp pains in his left hip/butt and down through his foot. Though uncomfortable and jarring, Brett has peace knowing that these are normal and to be expected with the limited blood flow in that leg.
Praise report - his bout with gout is done and healed!! Literally the quickest gout flareup we've ever seen and he is thankful for that! Another praise is that he's been walking around today with no walker!
Cannot thank each of you enough for the ceaseless prayers for our family - God is moving! We know and trust that God works ALL things together (even this experience) for the good of those who love Him.
Love you all, Meredith
