In Support of The Wendy Hood Family

When I received a call from Dennis Hood on Friday, June 7th, informing me that my dear sister and prayer partner had a brain tumor and was in critical condition awaiting surgery, the shock was indescribable. Despite Dennis's composed demeanor, the anguish in his voice left me questioning how in the world this could ever happen to Wendy! Only a week prior, we had enjoyed time together at our son's wedding, and everything seemed well with her.

As I pen this message on June 26, less than three weeks later, I am filled with a mix of joy and heaviness for our beloved Wendy Hood. I am first in awe at her tenacity and perseverence.  She was at church just 2 weeks after the surgery and continues to keep worship at the forefront of her life, with community at the center. The reality of her health needs is also pressing.  This is the moment where our extended family, friends, acquaintances, and all those touched by Wendy's 57 years of kindness come together. Wendy is a true warrior, known to many for her roles as the Founder and President of Sage Life Foundation and My Healthkick, as well as a cherished mother and wife to Dennis, Tyler, Tori, and Taryn Hood - an incredible, loving, God-fearing family.

The recent challenges facing the Hood family are immense. Wendy, is a dedicated health and wellness advocate and personal coach. She taught our son karate lessons, and like so many of us -- Wendy is like a second mom to our own sons. She has been a prayer warrior for her own family, and so many of us. She shows up, faithfully serves and is one of the best friends anyone could ever want. This experience has really made her realize that there is little she can do, BUT trust God.  Wendy is currently unable to work for 6 months, resulting in a significant loss of income. In their efforts to manage, Dennis is courageously taking on additional responsibilities, while Taryn is preparing to move back home, and Tyler and Tori are providing steadfast support by commuting regularly from the city to assist in any way possible.

The situation at hand weighs heavily on us all, yet Wendy, who embodies unwavering faith, has never once requested the setup of this page.

Will you join us in offering a generous gift or a monthly contribution to help Wendy and Dennis through this time? Can you assist with tasks like moving, meal preparation, construction, or maintenance on the Hood family's property and the Sage Life Foundation construction area? Your support, whether through donations or practical help, will make a significant difference in the lives of this remarkable family.  Thank you so much for considering a gift today.
