Well we can all finally take a breath. Our strong, brave, adorable heart warrior is coming out of surgery. Jaron and I just met with the surgeon and he said Ethan did great with the best possible outcome. The doctors are closing him up and it will take time for him to come out of anesthesia and we will be able to see him around 2:30/3 in the CICU.

Medical updates - Everything went as expected. No surprises. Mitral valve looked great. Aortic valve is symmetric despite being a two leaflet valve (typically people have a 3 leaflet valve). They opened the leaflets slightly, and the valve functions very well and should last him a very long time. The tissue below the valve which was restricting flow was removed along with a trimming of some muscle in that area which contributed to the growth of this tissue. All-in-all this was a very good outcome.

Mommy is staying with Ethan tonight and he will likely sleep a lot. We are hoping they can take out the breathing tube today, but should know more over the next few hours.
