Ethan, our Superman!
Friends & Fam,
The news we have all been waiting for...WE CAN LEAVE THE HOSPITAL TOMORROW! We can't explain how proud we are of Ethan and how well he has handled all of this. He has been beyond brave, had the best attitude, made friends with all the nurses, and just the sweetest little Bubba.
He got out of bed on his own today and insisted walking around the floor without help. We even had to tell him to slow down! He walked down to a different floor for X-rays and practiced going up and down stairs. It may not seem like a big deal, but after open heart surgery and not moving much the past few days, this is awesome!
He went to the playroom and made a trick or treat bag and had so much fun doing it (see picture attached).
We aren't sure when we will come home from Boston, but happy to get out of the hospital! We will leave with some meds that he will need to take over the next few weeks for blood pressure and Aspirin for pain. He will have restrictions on activities and carrying anything for about 5-6 weeks and his incision still needs to heal.
Thank you to our village for EVERYTHING! The outpouring of love, support, and help while we are gone is just incredible. We truly could not have gotten through this without all of you!
xoxo
