I’m not going to sugar coat it. Ovarian Cancer sucks. I’ve had a rough few weeks of severe nausea and not being able to keep much food down. It’s surprised me at how fast I have started to really feel sick.
But we have a plan now and are making progress. On Friday morning I got my chemo port installed and there were no complications. The care teams who have helped us have been so caring and compassionate and when the nurses saw how nauseous I was they found room in the schedule for me to get another paracentesis that morning. I’ll spare you the picture but they got another 3.5 liters - insane!
Also, the PA who does all of the paracentesis at Northside Atlanta is the daughter of Matt’s old boss and we actually went to her wedding 10 years ago. She recognized us right away and gave us her cell and said anytime I feel the ascites building back up to text her and she’ll get me on the schedule! So that was a pretty incredible blessing.
All in all, the morning was a huge success and helped me feel better going into a busy weekend with the boys. I was also able to eat lunch for the first time in a while - nachos FTW!
Chemo starts Tues 9/24 and I’ll share updates as we are able! Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.
