Picture: I have to share this because it brought me so much joy.  We pulled off the matching shirt prank on our husbands a few weeks ago and it was glorious. 

Okay, I wanted to share a quick update. I had my post op appt with Dr Yap this morning. The appt went well, my incisions are healing nicely and I’ll start chemo again next week.  She is also adding one more chemo to my treatment plan so I will have a total of 3 more to make sure we get it all (which I am thankful for). 

 

The pathology update is also good. My tumors tested positive for HRD, which means I qualify for taking a parp inhibitor pill every day for 2 years which helps reduce recurrence.  When I start taking them I’ll do labs once a week for the first month to make sure my body is able to handle them okay. There will be some known side effects like fatigue, but the benefits will far out way that.  

 

I actually teared up when she said that I qualified for the inhibitor as stage lll ovarian cancer has a high risk of recurrence so I am very anxious about treatments ending and what my new normal will be until we hit that sweet 5 year NED mark. 

 

Anyway, I know a lot of you are thinking about me and praying so I just wanted to pop on here and share the good news. Onward we go!
