Hi friends.
Mom has spent the last 36 hours trending in the wrong direction. She is not responding to antibiotics, including running a fever, White Blood Cell Count of 23,000, high blood pressure and a high pulse. We are concerned because she has never not responded to antibiotics before. We are awaiting blood culture results.
But our other concern is that she is not rousing following the seizure medication. We have requested a neurological consult and an EEG (which measures brain activity).
Rachel landed midday yesterday, and I’ll admit I that was hoping upon hearing her voice that my mom would start to stir.
Requesting prayers pertaining to answers and direction from the medical team, wisdom as we face hard decisions in the best interest of my mom, and for comfort to surround us.
