MRI Update: 

Sebastian’s brain is still very swollen and irritated from the radiation, so the tumor looks slightly larger because it’s very swollen from the body trying to clear debris from the tumor cells. Good news His spine looks really good but They did see possibly a new growth on the bottom right side of the current tumor, but they don’t know for sure. The neurologist asked A radiation oncologist to view the scan and in his opinion this is not a new growth but potentially just from the radiation. So we are in unknown territory until Sebastian’s brain heals more and we can get a clear MRI. 

Our next MRI will be in 8 weeks. Sebastian will start in the meantime a clinical trial at CHOC Children's Hospital in Orange, CA it's called rHSC-DIPGVax with the adjuvant STIMULON™ QS-21 Solution in combination with anti PD-1 (balstilimab) and CTLA-4 (zalifrelimab) antibodies. The vaccine is designed to stimulate T-cells to attack specific neo-antigen markers present in 80% of DIPG cases. Sebastian's first day of treatment will be 5/8/2024.
