In Support of Regina Freeman

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I’m asking you to please help me in supporting my sister/best friend. Her name is Gina, a 41 year old mother of four.

In May of this year, Gina broke her foot when she dropped her phone on it, landing in the wrong place. By July, she was still having so much pain, it led to an MRI where the unthinkable was diagnosed. Epitheloid Sarcoma…a rare and aggressive cancer, which has already invaded the bone, nerves and vessels of her foot.
Then again, maybe it wasn’t the wrong place, maybe it was exactly the right place after all. Had the cancer not been found, the outcome could have been even more devastating. (I really am trying to look for a silver lining in this heartbreaking situation.)

The last two months have been spent waiting on more in-depth pathology, consults and direction from the specialists on the best course of action for the best possible outcome.

Her life has been turned upside down and our family is shattered.

On 9/30 she has a prosthetic consultation, on 10/8 a PET scan to see if the cancer is anywhere else in her body, followed by surgery on 10/24 to remove her foot. The results of the scan will determine if chemotherapy and/or radiation will be necessary in addition to the surgery.
She is an amazing mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and honestly, just an all around beautiful human being. She loves her family with her whole heart. They include her husband Shawn, then youngest child Hailey, who is 9 years old and is heavily involved in gymnastics. Along with 3 young adult sons Dillon Cole Carter and bonus kids Lincoln and  London  2 daughter-in-laws that she cares for and supports in any way she can. She has been there for me all my life, through thick and thin.

Now, She is the one in need of support. Emotionally, spiritually and financially. For the foreseeable future, she will not be able work, cook, clean, drive or do any of the things for her family in the way she has always done. Any amount you can give will help. Even if you cannot donate financially, we appreciate all the prayers and sharing of this fundraiser that we can get. Again, please help me in supporting this beautiful soul through this journey in any way you can. And my family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
