Unexpected Admission
Paisley Teague
Hey guys. As some of you already know, Paisley was taken to our local hospital Saturday night after our very eventful day at the pageant and then transferred and admitted to Levine's. The pageant was wonderful and we appreciate all the support shown there! However, it proved to be a bit too much excitement for Paisley's little brain and her "episodes" got worse. Her head and eyes were hurting so bad she was crying.
I'm not sure if I discussed them here or not so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. But on Wednesday, 6/19/24, Paisley said her eyes were shaking. Her vision would blur, she would see multiples, and they were happening quite frequently. After multiple episodes she would say her eyes and head hurt and she would be tired. On 6/20/24 I took her to Levine's ER where they done an EKG and bloodwork. Both were normal and they sent us home saying it was vertigo. I was less than happy with that experience and diagnosis. The episodes didn't stop and she was constantly telling me that her eyes were shaking. Fast forward to the pageant... now we are caught up.
(6/22/24) We went to Catawba ER where they done more bloodwork and a CT scan. Both normal. I requested an EEG and they informed me that they don't have the ability to do that and put in a transfer order to Levine's. Riding behind that ambulance that held my baby girl was not fun. π But we got to Levine's and they admitted her fairly quickly. Paisley was hooked up for a 24 hour continuous EEG. Unfortunately she was not able to move around normally (just around the room) so she didn't have many episodes. π€·πΌβοΈ The results came in normal. So we are praying that's accurate and thankful it's not seizures but not sure what exactly it IS! We were sent home yesterday, 6/24/24, and told to keep our follow up appointment scheduled for July 3th.
For now we are just waiting in limbo and praying for the best. She's tired from the messed up sleep schedule that comes with a hospital stay but overall she's okay. Thank you all for checking on her!
Pray the doctors can figure out what is going on, her episodes don't get bad again, and that we all continue to navigate this the best way we can.
I also ask for prayers for my husband and his family as his grandmother recently received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.ππ»
Until next time. Stay strong. Stay in prayer. And God bless.
