Hi friends, I know it's been a while since I gave you all an update but honestly...it's getting harder to keep up. Time is flying and it feels like everything is changing with the leaves these days. I will try to do a little recap along with the newest information so bare with me if I repeat myself.

So we had some worrisome bloodwork, then the next month we had our scans and we seen shrinkage (YAY!) and bloodwork was trending in the right direction. Well our last appointment was eventful to say the least. Paisley's Grandmaw Teague had been declining all week and she knew things weren't good so her nerves/anxiety was already high. This stubborn girl decides she has to watch the nurses draw her blood and got herself so worked up that she passed out! Scared me to pieces! After she was awake and stable we discussed her bloodwork briefly with the doctor. Except this time we saw Dr Jacobson instead of Dr Gass. I also didn't check her bloodwork on her chart app prior to him coming in like I normally do. He said things were "fine" and asked my concerns. I took his word and informed them of some concerns I had and we moved on. I mentioned my concerns for her anxiety levels as we just seen how worked up she had gotten herself, but also because we knew Grandmaw's days would soon come to an end. The child life advocated, the nurse, and the social worker all gave me a different book to help talk about death with the kids. He sent her (as well as myself) a referral for therapy and dismissed the idea of anxiety medication until she has been evaluated and had a chance to talk through it with a psychiatrist. Her newest side effect is her hands being so dry the are cracking and burning. I have been putting lotion on them but I'm thinking about looking for some good gloves to have her wear to try and protect her skin. What I haven't discussed with many and DEFINATELY haven't brought to Paisley's attention is that she has started losing her hair. We knew that was a possibility when we started but it's so hard for me to see everytime I brush or fix her hair. PLEASE do not say a word to her about it if you are one who sees her in person and please refrain from asking about it if she is in anyway close!

We did unfortunately say goodbye to Grandmaw Teague on October 2, 2024. Some may say she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer but I say she won and we are the only ones who lost something. She won her wings. She won her late son Mikey and her mama who she missed dearly. She won the honor for seeing those Pearly Gates. So if you all will, please pray for her husband of 56years, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of those who knew and loved her because a beautiful bright light was taken off this Earth and called Home.

As for us, Paisley will be going back to Charlotte on Wednesday for her next cycle of medicine and another round of bloodwork. We are praying this will be a smoother appointment! Like I said, I'm sorry I haven't done an update between the last one and this one but life has been absolutely hectic and quite frankly, 2024 hasn't been kind to us AT ALL! I think that's all for now... See y'all next time, ya'll enjoy Paisley's favorite picture of Grandmaw. Be safe. Be kind. God Bless!
