We are setting up this account in hopes of gathering support for our 28 year old daughter, Kaycee Zopp, who is battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer. While most were happily celebrating Thanksgiving 2023, her dad, Tony and I received the worst phone call a parent could get. Kaycee had a sizable lump in her left breast. Over the next few weeks it grew exponentially in size.
Kaycee’s journey to fight the most aggressive breast cancer there is started at a very fast pace under the care of a phenomenal team of doctors. Kaycee’s world was rocked and she hardly had anytime to mentally prepare. She had been progressing very well in the accounting department of Spectra Credit Union, but had to put that on hold starting her fight. She has been blessed to have medical insurance and disability insurance, but as you can imagine, there is so much that insurance doesn’t cover.
In addition to her regular scheduled treatments, she has encountered complications that have resulted in multiple hospital stays; with mounting expenses.
Kaycee and Curtis were able to maintain their finances prior to the start of this cancer battle, but the reduction in income severely impacted their ability to just cover expenses. Curtis has been incredibly supportive; however, when he is by her side and attending appointments, he would often miss work and thus not get paid.
As the medical bills continue to come in, many bills simply can not get paid.
Family has helped Kaycee and Curtis as best we can, but this has become more than what we can support. It breaks my heart that on top of the stress and anxiety of fighting cancer, they now have the daily financial stresses.
Because of all this, we are asking for financial assistance for Kaycee and Curtis. The goal for this is to directly assist them with reducing the medical bills and help them get back to where they were before her battle started.
We would also be very grateful if you would share her story with your family, friends and organizations in an effort to extend my limited reach.
