Thank you everyone for the kind words and gifts we have received after Jason's passing. It has been long 2 weeks, and we are all trying our best to learn what our new normal will look like, some days are better than others.
I also threw my back out last weekend and ended up in the ER with severe back pain, they loaded me up with all kinds of meds and sent me home. Today is really the first day that I have been able to be up and moving around as I normally would. Because of that I feel like I am behind on getting things moving forward with his service plans.
The service will be on September 22nd at 3:00pm, at South Albany High School in the main gym. We are requesting that everyone come in your RedHawk or Rebel gear, and if you don't have that the school colors. We are also planning and hoping that everyone or those who would like to, stay after the service to play a game of catch out on the football and baseball fields. Jason believed that playing a game of catch makes great connections and also opens up communication. If you have a glove please bring it with you, if you don't and are not sure about playing, we will have soft balls that will be easy for the inexperienced. We don't care how ugly you throw or catch we would just like to see as many people out there as we can.
During the service we will be going through some chapters of Jason's life. If you have any pictures of him, please send them to me. I would love to see them and possibly incorporate them into the service. I have some gaps in his middle school years, high school sports and coaching at all the levels. If you could dig through your pictures, I would really appreciate it.
I am also asking if you want to send in a quote, short story, or just tell us how Jason has impacted your life I would love to have that as well. We would like to incorporate those thoughts and feelings in the service as well. If you want to send a short audio clip or just in writing that would be best for us. I have already received so many kind words about Jason, but I didn't want to pick out words from people who may have only wanted Jason to hear how he impacted them. So, if you have already sent me something please just let me know if it is okay to use your words.
The deadline for pictures or words will be September 8th. You can text them to me at 541-990-7304 or email 17cherrytreelaneco@gmail.com.
