I am reaching out to help my family raise funds for my brother John McAllister. John, known as "Eastside," was featured on "Unlocked: A Jail Experiment" Netflix series. On June 2, 2024, he was found unresponsive in his jail cell at Randall L. Williams Correctional Facility and was later pronounced dead.  

Our family is deeply saddened by this loss, especially considering the positive changes John was making during the filming of the experiment. That series gave him the opportunity to reflect on his life and make plans for a better future. We are grateful for the growth he experienced during this time. He had only 28 days left until his release and was eagerly looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life.

We are now raising funds to cover the costs of John's memorial services and transportation, as our family is split between Omaha, NE, and Arkansas. To help with these expenses, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will help us honor John's memory and bring our family together so we can celebrate his life
