Support Registry Update

How do I properly express our gratitude?

In support of
Gia and her family!

I woke up this morning and seen the love and generosity grow for my sweet girl. Gia was diagnosed 2/28/23 and to say this past year was difficult is an understatement. The love from friends and strangers since that day has shown my soul how wonderful the human heart still is. I feel words cannot express enough thank you's to everyone so all I can promise is to pay it forward in the near future. It has been very hard for me to show my vulnerability and Tiffany seen right through my facade. She is a friend I met not that long ago and took the initiative to help my family. I simply love you Tiffany 🫶

Gia is currently wearing a 28 day pump of immunotherapy. It took 4 times to get it going safely and straight. She encounter neurotoxic side effects twice when trying to start this medicine. Her last admission had her blood pressure drop to 70/20 & 102.9 fever resulting in a rapid response being called to her room but luckily they stabilized everything quickly. They stopped the full dose and we stayed in hospital for 3 days at a lower dose with steroids and then bumped her up to the full dose. We are currently home and doing great now on the full dose.
Monday we leave for John Hopkins (with some fun inbetween at the Aquarium and gorging on seafood...nom nom) We will be meeting the pediatric hematology/oncology team to have a chart review of the last year and see if they feel she would be better suited there or continue this protocol at Geisinger. Having them on board will give me peace of mind and confidence. If she ends up failing this protocol having them on board to take the reigns is what we need to establish continuity of care.

I will update as we go and again thank you so so much for all the love and support. God bless every single one of you!

Gia, Laura, Daniel, Carmine & Vincent
