Chemo Port Now Implanted
Emily Powers
Emily successfully had her Chemo Port implanted this morning and because it is considered an outpatient procedure, she was able to return home today to rest and prepare physically and mentally for treatment to begin next week.
Her 1st (of 18 total) Chemo treatments is now scheduled to begin next Tuesday or Wednesday.
And as we stand in this moment between the shocking diganosis and treatment to come -- I want to turn to you guys, her cheering section, and express our heartfelt gratitude. The words of encouragement she has received here, the countless committed prayers to our Heavenly Father on her behalf, and the practical ways you have loved on her family have been such a confidence booster just knowing she's NOT walking this alone.
You guys have blessed her family tremendously as she enters this next phase. And I wanted you to know she is still experiencing the residual care from your donations. Through the ability to order fresh groceries as needed via Instacart and scheduled monthly housekeeping (already funded through October!) These practical gifts have helped her truly rest, focus on family time, and shift all of her energy to healing and being present instead of focusing on all the little things Moms do behind the scenes to manage a household :) So this is another note to say THANK YOU because every donation, small and large, is granting her true physical rest. What a blessing you are!
I plan to update you all here on her first day of Chemo next week. In the meantime, I want to close with sharing a verse that describes this exact kind of love she's experiencing from our Heavenly Father, through each of you, as Jesus describes in Matthew 6:25-27...
“I tell you, do not worry. Don’t worry about your life and what you will eat or drink. And don’t worry about your body and what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than eating? Aren’t there more important things for the body than clothes? Look at the birds of the air. They don’t plant or gather crops. They don’t put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in heaven feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are? Can you add even one hour to your life by worrying?"
Amen!
