Teamwork makes the dream work
Bobby Worthington
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Team work really does make the dream work. And we have the best team!!
The past few days Bear has been surrounded by family (Piper, Will, Billy, Leslie, and Anita). He doesn’t need 5 caregivers… he’s just so loved that 5 people showed up to help. This team has helped keep him distracted, encourage him to get out and walk the beach, assist him with meals and laundry, and offer the team mom some additional back up support. And this is team work at its finest. All players chipping in and jumping in.
The Bible recognizes and celebrates teamwork.
Hebrews 10:24-25 calls us to a higher standard of teamwork: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
Teamwork isn’t just about working on a common goal… it’s about pointing others to Christ along the way to achieving that goal.
Overall Coach is doing amazing. His pain is well managed by a simple Tylenol. He is sleeping decent in a portable recliner chair. He is able to move and walk easier by the day. Today he ventured down to the beach and looked for sharks teeth.
His appetite has returned and he is able to eat a normal diet which is amazing after a whipple procedure.
Prayers for continued success in his post op recovery and for him to enjoy this special time by the beach with family. We aren’t sure how chemo will affect his energy levels, his appetite, and his ability to visit with others safely due to chemo precautions. So he is taking advantage of these “good” days while he can!
Recently, my dad met a little girl. She fell in love with him, as everyone does. She was enthralled with him, as everyone is. And she looked up to him, as everyone does. And she asked him if he would be her grandfather… to which he replied…. But you have to call me Bear! She made the cutest Bear Strong bracelets and a sweet card. You can see them in the picture above!
Thank you for being on our team. You are all playing an important role. Prayers, texts, phone calls, messages on the update posts, cards… it’s making the dream work.
Let’s keep playing ball and praising the lord.

It's Spring Training now, isn't it? So get the work in, Bear and heed your coach's (Dr.'s) advice.
