It's been fun being in my baseball era.... but tonight I'm throwing a Hail Mary. If you aren't a Taylor Swift fan you don't understand the "in my baseball era" comment. 

Speaking of Taylor Swift... I heard her boyfriend is playing in a game tonight? Maybe also at an Usher concert? 

Coach had a busy day "pre-gaming" and gearing up for the Super Bear Bowl.  
He began the day with a full shower, a shave, and some fresh clothes. 

Brother Billy made his way to the hospital and they will be watching the game together from their box seats. This particular box is so special it comes with doctors, nurses, ice chips, ensure drinks, beeping monitors, and even a bed with buttons to make it go up and down so you can enjoy the game from a variety of comfortable positions.  

Hopefully the commercials and/or Billy's jokes won't be too funny because laughing does not feel good! And "don't even mention the 's' word... because a sneeze would be the absolute worst for me." 

We got a cute cookie cake made for the nurses to enjoy from their box seats. It says "Super Bear Bowl" on the cake. They have been the sweetest cheerleaders. And they deserve a cake after putting up with all of us. 

We are so fortunate with the great progress he has made. And we don't take it for granted. It's hard to believe how fast all of this has happened. A horrible diagnosis that seemed to come from left field to what feels like a home run. It's easy to feel like we are winning... but we are still cautiously optimistic. Of course my dad... in all his wisdom... said it best.

My new favorite song is "Bless God" by Cody Carnes. And this verse really hits it home.
