Sliding into HOME
Bobby Worthington
Sliding into HOME.... another point for Team Worthington.
Coach arrived in Atlanta! Exactly 2 weeks ago he was on the operating table undergoing a Whipple.... wow! Miracles upon miracles.
He had a successful post op follow up appointment where they cleared him for a full regular diet! He is also cleared to drive. He still has to be VERY careful not to physically strain his body in any way. No throwing batting practice, no taking out the trash (bummer), no cross fit, no marathons. I'm hoping his doctor will prescribe the same strict orders for me 😅
Monday March 4th he meets with his oncologist for a consult and we hope to find out many more answers and a game plan. Every coach likes a game plan. They do want his body to recover more before chemo begins.... so it likely won't officially start until April 1st.... too bad this isn't an April fools joke.
He is in good spirits! But he is not looking forward to these next innings. Which I'm not sure anyone would sign up for chemo for fun.
I know it must feel good to slide into HOME. Have you ever wondered why they don't call it 4th base? They call it home because it's a starting point and an ending point. Players naturally want to return back to home--and score!
Not that we are keeping score or anything... but Team Worthington is winning.
BUT the real MVP is Jesus. He deserves all the praise and glory.... "thanks be to God for He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore my beloved brothers be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15: 57-58
Thank you for your ongoing prayers, support, and love. We are forever grateful for our team fans.
Let's keep playing ball and praising the Lord!
