Today was strike EIGHT against chemo. 
The magic eight ball if you will. 
 Brother Billy was allowed another chance as the chemo chaperone today. If you remember, last chemo was the “lucky seven” where it was pure luck they didn’t get ejected from game… and today was truly the “magic eight” as they behaved yet again. Except for “accidental” tickling of coach’s feet when applying his ice socks. 
Emily and her darling baby Charlotte surprised him with lunch. Sadly she couldn’t sneak the baby in game but he could see her giant smile through the door….. a medicine better than anything going into his veins.  
I decided to look up “8” and baseball to see if there was any significance… and to my surprise number 8 in baseball is the 8th position on the field which is CENTER FIELD. 
Coach continues to amaze us all… he has kept Christ in the CENTER (field) this entire journey. Even with the curveballs he has remained grounded…. In center field. Grounded in Christ… at the center.  
Last week he returned to the Mayo Clinic for the repeat MRI. In hopes that this scan would clearly identify the “suspicious tissue suggesting recurrence” that was seen in the previous scan. 
We are overwhelmed, overjoyed, and overcome with emotion—— the MRI was not only MUCH more clear, but it shows a modest decrease in the soft tissue and no metastatic lesions were found 🙌🏻…… 
Praise be to God. 
He also had a positive visit with his primary where all blood work was reassuring. And today’s labs before chemo were excellent!  
We are so thankful he has remained healthy to continue chemo and never miss a scheduled chemo day.  

Please continue to pray with us. For the remaining chemo visits, the ongoing scans and labs and the constant wandering of the mind which quickly takes us far away from CENTER field.
