  • Overnight thereaputic cooling ended. Now on normal thermic. 
 
  • On Epinefrin is for his blood pressure. 
 
  • Heart rate okay 
 
  • Bumped up oxygen to 90% which is pretty high, low at 70%. 
 
  • Was getting insulin to keep blood sugar in a good range. But right now it’s off. 
 
  • MRI showed swelling of brain. On hypertonic saline to help. 
 
  • Body pretty acidic. Getting sodium bicarbonate. 
 
  • Kidneys are pretty damaged. Not producing as much urine. 
    • He has been receiving small doses of Lasicx (a diuretic to hopefully help him pee) over the past couple days and will today as well due to the fluid build up around his chest cavity. 
 
  • On fluids to keep hydrated and a little sugar. Nothing by mouth. 
 
  • Ventilator doing the work. 
 
  • Watching Blood gases. 
 
  • EEG finished yesterday after 24hr. Reccomendation is seizure medicine Kepra.

[Auntie] Chelsea is doing a good round of the “red light” therapy laser and he got a really good massage and laser therapy last night from [Grandma] Darci and Chelsea. 
I’ve been pumping milk praying that he will be able to receive a more food like substance once his organs are showing positive function. 
We have not stopped singing, praying, talking to or touching him   We also try to keep the environment in the room as positive as possible with hymns and church music playing in the background 24/7.

So update for moving further with treatment. Basically we have asked the doctors now to do an update with Dr Paul Harch (the reknown HBO specialist)... we have had so many people reach out and tell us this is the guy we need to talk to and work with... So they're going to talk to him today and hear what his recommendation is. And if we want to do HBO treatment, it is a medevac to the mainland. It doesn't seem like working here is an option.

The lasix should help with the production of urine and fluid imbalances in his body. It’s a great sign that his blood gases are stable! The body is miraculous!! Praying for Andrew!! I have been in a similar situation and I know first hand how dark and scary it can be! Please have hope!!

My son drowned in March. All of these medical practices and precautions seem spot on and headed in a good direction. Neuro storming will be coming around soon, don't let is surprise you, but as a parent, it's very hard to watch. Ask for PT/OT to come work with him as soon as possible and suggest ways to calm him during storming. Advocated for NG tube as soon as the doctors will allow, his body needs nutrition to allow the brain to heal. They may be hesitant due to organ function. I have been praying for Andrew constantly; I've lived through the horror and devastation you're facing right now. Take it one minute at a time, God will carry you through this.
